First just saying hi, not here to troll just post my experience.
I drive an 87 RX7 turboII with a few mods and a 62-1 hybrid.

So I was driving down a main road in town, cruising with the windows down enjoying my freshly built engine and brand spanking new turbo.
Anyway I see a bright red 05 mustang in my rearview coming up pretty fast.
He pulled up beside me, looked and revved and jumped ahead.
Initally I wasnt going to race because my GF was in the car, but she told me to 'Go get him' so I did lol.

Anyway I punch it and get right behind him, we are going around 55 and I was in third gear.
So at this point im right behind him and he punches it (like I said around 55mph in 3rd gear). I hit it a split seccond after him and switch lanes. My pull started IMMEDIATELY. I was right beside him @ 65mph.
The look on his face was SO funny, his jaw was dropped and his eyes were popped out of his head lol. He also had a friend in the passanger seat who couldn't believe it either.
Anyway, by 90mph I have a few car lenghts and my pull is getting harder and harder so I just shut down.

As I'm slowing down he pulls a WOT flyby and gives my a Thumbs down lol.
Noticing the red light up ahead I kept my slow pace.
He was already stopped when I was rolling up to him and the light turned green.
This time I was in first gear going ten and he was beisde me mathcing my speed.
He looked and shook his head and hit the gas. I followed suit and waved @ him as I was passing him in first gear. I hit seccond and pulled another couple of cars, and banged it into third.
I helt it to the top of third but I think he gave up because he was waaaaayyyy behind me.

I slowed back down and tried to let him get beside me but he was staying back.
So I waved out the sunroof, busted U and went home.

Funny thing is that I was running in low boost on the profec. but im not even sure if high bosot would give me any gains..

Anyhow pretty much what I expected...maybe a couple of ticks quicker than the 03 GTs but not too much faster

Let me ask this question, if I sign up at RX7 forums just to post that a 04 Cobra can beat a done stock 2nd gen NA RX7, how would they respond?

No my intent was not to bash the stang.
In fact it is one of the cars I test drove as a replacement for the RX7. (87 has some nasty electrical problems + i just wasnt a new car.)

i never understand sore losser.So what u lost no big deal. you win some and you lose some.**** i lost the other night to one of those bullit or bullet not really sure mustangs yeah he handed my my ***,at light told him good race he did the same and talked about what he had done to his car.

Curious what does your car run in the 1/4. I have a couple friends with that body style and they are dogs. Definitely not saying yours is slow, just curious.

I havent run my car in the 1/4 yet with the new turbo.
On my previous setup I was running mid 13s around 104mph.

The turbo should put me up a couple MPH but right now the stock intercooler just cant flow enough to keep up.

A more detailed mods list:
Ported exhaust/intake ports, Fluidyne aluminum radiator, Greddy profec Boost controller (this race was in low boost @ 10psi), racing beat turboback exhaust, 720xx injectors all around, Rtek 1.7 ECU, ACT 6 puck clutch, oh and the upgraded turbo.

Once I get it fine tuned and put a front mount intercooler on I should be hitting 330rwhp @ 14-15psi of boost.

You sure it was a GT? Did it have fog lights in the grill? Mid 13s is what a 5 spd. GT runs stock.
