Default WALKED AWAY FROM A C5 VERT

I was driving to my friends house yesterday after noon and saw a C5 vert driving along and thought to my self "hmmm i haven't raced one of these yet."So I looked over at my girlfriend and told her to look what was up there and, I started speeding up to catch him. She looked back at me and said "I knew this was coming." So I'm do about 65 got up next to him and slowed down and droped it to 3rd and gave him a rev. He looks over with a smile on his face like I'm not worth the race. I punch it in 3rd and hit 4th look back and he's just sitting there. So I slow down put it into 5th and look back and here he come flying up on my tail. I dorped it to 3rd again and bark the tires (I'm thinkin to my self, "And their off) I hit 4th look in my mirror and he's about a half a car length farther than when we started. I shifted to 5th and I'm pushing my pedal through the floor i look back one last tim and he's a full carlength away now and I look and my speedometer is just over 140mph and I look at my hood scoop and it looks like a pyrimid. It's opened but not braced to the hood yet. Then I tapped the brakes and then try to stoop to take a turn. We gave each other a wave and parted.

Nice kill! Man that must be one helluva ride. I bet those 4.1's are what gave you the edge over his 3.42's.

Not trying to be a douche, but if you only have the mods in your sig, I find it extremely hard to believe that you took down an LS1 Corvette on the highway. In stock form, they run high 12's at 108-110.
What does your car run in the 1/4?

There is always a non believer in the crowd. LOL First off it was a Convertable. Secondly... all the stock Vettes at my track run mid to low 13's and the worst drivers never even see mid 13's.

surely you aren't bringing driver skill into this

I've seen a 99 c5 coupe run no better than a 14.0@105 and I've seen a friend's bone stock c4 beat it running a 13.8 in the other lane. Anything is possible if the driver sucks... Proof of that is the evo that couldn't run better than a 10.2 in the 1/8th when I was at the track

I didn't mean to call BS or call him a liar, I know that with manuals, driver error is always a factor. Hell, I beat the only '03 Cobra that I've ever raced at the track (he ran a 13.9 @ 108). With a good driver, that Cobra woulda ruined me. Sorry if I came off the wrong way and good kill.[sm=icon_cheers.gif]

I'll believe it if it was a 97 auto convertible.
