ATV's?
 
I know I read all the time that motorcycles/bikes are fast and it's seen all the time on the road. But are there any fast ATV's stock? Or what does the average ATV run? I know the average harley's I think are low-mid 13 sec bikes, just wondering if ATV's are fast at all or moddable(easily) to make fast. Thanks for any info.

The Yamaha Banshees are pretty damn fast once modded... Never seen them @ the track but I know in the sand drags they tear **** up over in Glamis (traction FTW). I'm not too impressed with the Raptors that replaced the Banshees (well not really a replacement they came out a while ago, but they are Yamaha's top dogs now), things are bleh.

maybe racing style ATVs could be made fast.. but I think that is a ridicilous thing to do to them.. my dad has own for going out in the woods on and it'll get up to 40-60 pretty fast I think it can do 80, but wheels will start getting all squirrely past 60 on a paved road.. but still way slower than my car... I know it was pretty pricy.. i think he paid 15,000 for it..

Is it one of those utility quads? Those things can be fun too, 4x4 kicks ass in those. But fast they are not.

You had one and got rid of it? Man that sucks. My buddy back in CA paid 3k over the damn sticker last year cause they don't make them anymore (well for the states anyhow, and he wanted on BAD) and everyone is taking advantage of that and selling them for stupid prices.

I've seen fairly quick ATVs run at Cecil. They usally run in the 14's and trap about 90. I seen one with a powertrain from a snowmobile run low 13s. The swingarm must have been 4 feet over stock. Pretty interesting to watch.
