4.0 vs. rx8

RE: 4.0 vs. rx8
Definitely a close race. Depends on the drivers and mod. Those rotary engines are lacking torque so if its a short race the mustang should win. Now if its a longer race i would put my money on the rx8

RE: 4.0 vs. rx8
rx8s are rated to run the 1/4 in 14.5, we hit mid 15s stock. i think a bolt on 4.0 would be a closer race.
i know they lack in torque, and their was some issue about their real hp numbers- i think mazda claimed they were higher than they actaully were, the rx8 (autos) dynoed at 180 to the wheels.
but they do have a stock 4.30 final gear ratio and only weigh 3000 or so pounds.

Should be close stock to stock. If the RX8 is a manual...you are going to lead until about last few hundred feet. Stock RX8 is 14.5. Cheap mods take them to high 13's..same for the 6er.
I would not put any money down if I were you...as you might be looking at his Zoom Zoom sticker from the back side.

Yeah the Rx-8 wins. My dad has one and we have rat raced a few time. Thing spins up like a motorcycle and sounds like a sewing machine. He has an auto and me a manuel and he pulls away slightly. I have driven the Rx-8 on twisty roads and it will take a GT there. It handles like no other. On a straight away the GT will beat the RX. So it's inbetween a V6 and GT in power. And this is my '01 GT.
