RX8's arn't fast stock at all last time I checked though. If I'm not mistaken the base model only makes 128hp, I'm not saying they dont have the potential to be fast just saying stock, they arnt.

rated at 238hp at the crank, but they have to be rapped out to 9k rpm to make that power (you actually gave their torque numbers )
I thought they were more or less a drivers race with a v6? It seems like alot of people can't get the best out of them due to their high rev limiter....I mean I would be a bit skitish to rev an engine that high at the track, lol

it is really weird racing with one (i did a fun run at one of the auto-x races with my buddies RX8). they just don't seem to run out of rpm. i mean, 9k rpm is up there. it's even weirder to downshift from 2nd to 1st and watch the tach jump to 7500rpm and not blow the engine
