Default S197GT vs EVO and STi tonight.... RESULTS!!!

Hey guys...

I am going out for a bit of roll racing fun in an hour or 2. Any ideas on the outcomes?

Projected races are 30-110

03 EVO
3" DP/MP/exhaust, SlowBoy FMIC, HKS 272's and a tune...

I think I am going to lsoe by maybe 1 car?

07 STi - Cobb stage 2, exhaust and i am not sure what else
Going to be close

I will post results, it should be video taped as well. Any thoughts on the outcomes?

**************************************************
06 (thought it was o7) STi 1 Passenger
  • Cosworth Filter
  • Invidia Downpipe
  • BLITZ Nur Spec Exhaust
  • Cobb Stage 2
Run 1 : 40-95. Mustang won by 2 solid cars. Datalogging shows IAT of 28f

Mustang took 7.801 seconds to go 40-95.5

Run 2 : 40-110 Mustang won again by roughly 2 cars, datalogging not on.

Run 3: 60-128. This time, the passenger was driving, as he is a much better/faster shifter then the owner of the sti.... This run, was dead nuts even

Run 4: 40-128 Starting in 2nd gear helped me pull 3/4-1 car and then held that amount till 128(redline in 4th)

03 EVO
3" DP/MP/exhaust, SlowBoy FMIC, HKS 272's and a tune...

He insisted on 30 rolls which is a bit low to start in 2nd gear, but oh well.

Run 1 - 30-117 Datalog on.

He got a tiny jump on the beeps, and I fell 1 car behind. But, was able to slowly reel him in to finish within 1 foot of him. Datalog shows 14.76 second 29-117. IAT 26f

Run 2 - 30-100
I got a little bit of a jump on him this run, and put maybe a fender on him by the end of the race.

Run 3-5 30-100
I dont remember the order, it all came down to who hit it first. Every run was within 1/2 car

Run 6 : 40-120
Perfect start... mustang hits hard right at 4000rpm. I instantly pulled 1/2 car and held it for the rest of the race

Overall... VERY close runs. I was expecting the EVO to be a bit faster then it was, and told my friend (STi owner) he needs the drivers mod

they run your times stock, but with alot less mph up top. I think you may be able to hang about 1/2 a car up til 120 or so with either of them finishing about a car ahead of you. Not sure about the STI though, I think you may be pretty even with him or possibly put a nose on him...

I think your predictions are about right, depending on how modded the STI is.

I think it will be really close. Correct me if I'm wrong but a race from a stop they would both probably win with the big traction advantage in 1st righ?

I'd say watch out for the evo, it sounds like it's going to have a nice power bump from those mods. Let us know how it goes.
