20whatever camaro

well....looks like GM couldn't step up like they did in the past here is the new 1/4 mile times for the maro. The camaro is just now getting door to door with a 6 year old car...way to go GM

Well guys, here it is:

V6 A6: 6.1; 14.5 @ 97
V6 M6: 6.1; 14.5 @ 96
V8 A6: 4.7; 13.2 @ 105
V8 M6: 4.7; 12.9 @ 111

Info found here: 2010 Chevy Camaro Coupe | Chevrolet

Not bad for the LS3 Camaro SS and I am sure the auto is just hampered with torque management, nothing a tune wouln't fix.

If I remember correctly I think Ford rated the 07-09' GT500 at 12.8 seconds. Of course, we all know manufacturers are conservative.

Oh, and the gas mileage is damn impressive:

V6 fuel economy -- with 6 sp manual -- 17 City - 29 Hwy
with 6-speed automatic -- 18 city -- 29 Hwy --

6.2 Liter with 6 sp manual trans -- 16 city -- 24 hwy
6.2 Liter with 6 sp auto trans -- 16 City -- 25 Hwy.

The test driver didn't know what he was doing... it's a 12-flat car:D. With the power-weight ratio and all the electronic bs a high 12/low 13 didn't surprise me. Once a tune disables all the electronic stability/launch crap I don't doubt a good driver can push it to mid-12's.

I think we'll be seeing a good number of these cars, much more than the challenger. Good find, thanks for posting the #'s.

USMCrebel 03-18-2009 10:08 AM

either way it's barely keeping up with the 03-04 cobras

I tell you what i am VERY impressed with the V6 though! but i have a feeling that the car's will got deep deeep 12's with an intake/exhaust and add gears and your smashing 11's.

Haven't seen many advertisements for aftermarket parts in my hot rod, carcraft or summit mags. I wonder where the aftermarket will stand with them. I'll start getting scared of one when they're able to start modding it:D.

USMCrebel 03-18-2009 10:25 AM

it's the same LS3 as in the vette so the aftermarket is already here. headers and that kinda **** will be slightly different to accommodate the different body.

Rubrignitz 03-18-2009 10:37 AM

I knew the LS3 had been around for a bit but what parts will be interchangable? None of them? Everything will have to be redesigned and even tuning with the slightly different engine mgmt, electronics etc. The only interchangable parts will be internal engine, unless I'm missing something. It's going to be interesting. Hell, I may just go out and buy one if they turn out to be "that" awesome:p.

USMCrebel 03-18-2009 10:42 AM

most maro owners never do anything outside of internal parts and giggle gas....so i don't know what would have to be redesigned other than exhaust and CAI's.

Rubrignitz 03-18-2009 10:52 AM

Lol, you're right about that. Speaking of giggle gas, a 150-shot on that LS3 would completely kick ass.:D

USMCrebel 03-18-2009 11:02 AM

a 150shot on my 10:1 mach would kick ass too...honestly i think i've got the auto maro cover for the first couple of weeks they're out then when people figure out how to drive them im screwed hardcore

jRock617 03-18-2009 11:27 AM

i gotta hurry up and get my procharger before people start modding these LS3s.
