Stock SRT-4 vs. 2 modded stangs

So the differences between the two cars is LT's, UDP, 3.73 gears, and TB vs 4.10 gears and a tune. I dunno where you are getting killed. Because from a roll at say 30-35 mph you are even farther into your power band then he is. So, say at 30mph he is going to be at around 3k rpms, you will be at around 3200rmps. His car should slowly pull on you, I just don't see why he is pulling 5 cars on you.

The wastegate dictates amount of boost, not the BOV. He probably had an aftermarket boost controller too.
The BOV just releases the compressed air when you close the throttle, so you don't damage the turbo. People usually get an aftermarket BOV to change the sound of the air rushing out....unless they need more flow due to a turbo upgrade.

[QUOTE=mike08;6137709]-Sound right? Does the neon () have more mods than he admitted? He said the SRT-4's came underrated this year and he said he was pushing about 18 lbs. of boost.
So what kind of SRT-4 were u racing Neon or Caliber? They stopped making SRT-4 neons in 05. So if he's saying the SRT-4's came underrated this yr than theirs a lil mix up in yur post.

Nice explanation. Almost sounds like you used to own one. A BOV on a stock turbo is just a noise maker. OP I'd say the SRT was pretty close to stock. A couple of fairly cheap mods will get a SRT-4 running mid 13s at about 106. And everyone knows a turbo cars game is it's topend pull on a roll race. Nice races.
Damn, I'm just shifting into 4th @ 110mph. 4-5 shift around 150mph. This car is really light, so doesn't need alot of gear to get moving.
