... So I ran a Challenger SRT8 Today.

The thing you said about burnouts in the waterbox...with street tires, it's true.

it may be true but it sure wasn't working for any of us. tried it, spun the whole 60'. we kept trying it and the tires would unload as soon as you feathered the throtle. started doing burnouts and we coould'nt get the tires to spin. got em warm rolled through the VHT and game on from 13s to 12s with the 60's going from 2.++ to 1.9s

The SRT8 is rated at 425hp, but the weather around here effects them enough that at the track I doubt they're putting out much more than 350-375hp.

With the same given test conditions(sea level, mean temp of 20* C etc), 2 engines might make different power, but as the weather changes the more powerful engine might react more negatively. It all depends on how they're set up and tuned. Based on what I've seen at the track around here, is that the 3V doesn't respond as negatively to adverse weather as the SRT8 does.
Very interesting points you've brought up. How would the computer react to say, a 180* t-stat? Would that help counter any PCM detuning?

Wait till the SRT boys get ahold of some 100 octane..Bye-Bye 3V's lol

A SRT8 will pull a 3V hard on the top end. Go try for yourself. I didn't think that point would get argued anywhere, even on a Mustang forum.

I've seen them (SRT-8) do 170 mph. Your run of the mill 3v isn't going to touch that even with bolt ons. Top end goes to the SRT-8 all day long.

I was just thinking about 67Mustang's post about the newer motors being prone to PCM detuning when its hot because of detonation. I was just half kidding saying, if they had some 100 octane they could run without the computer pulling timing, and therefore run their "425 HP"
