supercharged 331 stroker fox vs my Ls1
#22
His blower is a Vortech V1 i believe, its screaming and is not enough blower for this car thats for sure, he needs to upgrade (which he will be this winter) The car has edelbrock heads, a custom cam, holly intake, exhaust etc etc. I mean i trap 120 NA in street trim, so this car is right up there 120+ no doubt, show me a 2V making similar power and running those trap speeds..
We have never dynoed the car, thats the owner's estimate... the tune is pretty conservative as well.

83gt, its not reasonable to draw that conclusion.
10 PSI is nice, but nothing crazy. A 331 using 302 parts will make 302 power, sure, but how does that make it a POS or sad? IMHO, that guy put together a soild ride. He pulled on a 420 RWHP T/A while making similar numbers! Not everybody can toss the coin at "top-notch" parts. Nor does everybody want to spend the coin on high end parts. There's a lot to be said about realiblity and longivity. Im damn sure he enjoys his car, and doesn't lose any sleep thinking "I should be making another 25RWHP. Im a failure!"
Nice run OP. I dig the T/A and the Fox. Badass

Nicely put.

Personally I'd be pissed if I built a blown HCI fox that had a hard time out-running a 120 mph trap car. But thats just me. Dont get me wrong, the fox is really sweet and runs strong, but that kind of power can be had N/A with a 331/347

I was thinking a HCI 302/blower could make that sort of power, not that it matters if he is using a stock block he really wouldn't be able to get much more power out of it before swaping to a stronger block (if he wants his engine to last that is)

^ Sure, a H/C/I force feed 302 could make that power, but the 3.4" stroke of the 331 will exhibits better power under the curve, not to mention the better over all torque curve. And really, 331 isn't displacing much more than a 302.
A 331 is a the factory 4" bore x a 3.4" stroke, correct?
