Default Camaro vs 99-04 mustang

So I was just wasting some time driving around and ran into a modded red GT, I saw him getting on it and knew he would want to play a little. So as I slow down to around 50 or 55 I hear him get on it and get maybe a fender on me untill my auto slow down shifts but as soon as it does I slowly pull by him and put maybe a car or two on by around 100 or more. So we cruise a little longer I see hes got at least exhaust because his car had nice new shiny pipes underneath it.

So we hit a light and he tells me my car is fast and that he had a few people in his stang I only saw his small little girl friend in the car but whatever. As soon as the light goes green I see him get on it again so I punch it aswell I pull alot harder on him from the lower gears I think he missed a gear anyhow his stang was faster than I thought it would be and gave me a good little race. Sorry for the story being a little long just happy to get a little race in.

That's cool! I had a 98 Z28 6-speed with just a K&N filter and Flowmaster Catback. With just those mods i don't think it was any faster than my 04 gt with full bolt ons and gears (mods in sig) but when my stang was basically stock there was no comparison.

Was it a 99-04 style? If so, i'm guessing if he had full bolt ons and gears it would've been a lot closer. Maybe he just couldn't drive either...who knows!

BTW, have you ever had yours dynoed? It's an auto with just a lid and cat back right?

^^^The 99-04 2 valves are too bad, with the PI head motor. I would agree with that about the 96-98's though. Then again, with enough $$$ any of them can be fast.

Have not dynoed my car I was gonna wait till I got headers and a few more thing then get a tune, but like usual something else in life pops up that cost alot of money so I had to put a hold on all that stuff for the mean time. But yeah I liked this guys mustang alot it was lowerd and had some kick *** rims on it it was very nice and sounded just as good.

Nice kill! I've had quite a few 2V Stangs surprise me on the street too. From stoplight to stoplight they can be just as fast or faster than LS1s, 4Vs, etc, when they have a few bolt-ons and the right gears.

they are not horrible.. just need boost to come alive... I would never waste money on bolt on's on these cars. Full exhaust & D1SC procharger, profit.

I found your times from summer (13.3 @ 104 with a 1.9 60ft), did you ever end up topping that?

I would agree for sure... he had a decent mod list if he was keeping with you at all OP.

Nice kill!
