Blown C5 Z06 vs. 2007 Shelby GT
Not much of a race but a cool encounter.
My buddy and I were driving back up to northern California from SD today for Christmas. We took his '07 Shelby GT. Just outside of San Diego we see a C5 Z06 coming up on us quick and notice as he begins to pace us. My buddy has full exhaust and intake/tune. We didn't figure it would be much of a race but my buddy thought, WTF lets run him.
Just as we begin to honk it off from 55mph, I notice a gauge pod going up his A pillar. I thought "Oh crap this is going to be a murder." We initially got the jump because he lit up his tires but once he hit his stride it was amazing. By the time we were out of third gear he had to have 10+ cars on us!!! I've never seen a car move out that fast on the street. It was easily atleast a 10 second car. It sounded amazing, my buddies car is pretty loud but he had to stare at his tach because he couldn't hear his car at all.
With all that said, had my buddy had cams I'm pretty sure we would have walked him. Right bolton3v?

around april or so I had drove about an hour north to pick up some seat's for my pos. On the was home I saw two TA's following each other, doing about 10-15 over the limit, so i paced after them for giggles (no bottle, still stock head/cam still)
Once I got up to them, the one, was LOUD, like, abnormaly loud, nothing else stood out. The other you could hear wistling almost like a vortech even at 90mph, then I noticed about 15 gauges aranged around the car.
I dont think they gave me a second look, and continued a pace about 20mph over the limit into the city, where I decided to slow down, lol.
I knew it would have been murder if they wanted to play, but it would have been cool at the least.

Its always fun seeing a car pull like that, 83. Sometimes I wish I had of gone the Vette route, like an older Z06 or something. Its hard to get the Mustang out of your system though, lol.

True. When I was looking at cars, I was all about some 3rd or 4th Gen. TA's and Mustangs. I ended up with the SN95, and now all I want is Mustangs. I love the WS6/WU6 'Birds especially, but I doubt I will ever buy one over a Mach, Cobra, or clean S197 GT in the future.
