Vortech'd GT vs Camm'd GT
 

Got another run today but this time it was with a fellow GT..... As I was leaving the gym, I see a black gt coming into the parking lot and it looked like he went to park on the backside of the building. As he went by I actually heard a whistle/whin so I tried to chase him around the building to say whats up and see what he had done to the car. Well he didnt park, and pretty much did a loop around the building then back out onto the highway. So I followed him and got next to him on the highway. With the window down, he yelled over "blown?" I said yea and asked the same because of what I heard in the parking lot although he said back "no"..... I was like wtf? yea ok..... So we lined up, he honked off and we went..... I was in 3rd at around 60mph sounded like he went to 2nd..... Right off the bat, he walks me to his rear tires then we kinda stalemate.... By the top of 3rd ive closed the gap to dead even, I hit 4th and walk him by about 1-1.5 car(s)...... Best and closest race ive had with this car lol..... We pull over and talk for afew and i kinda found out hes running... shorty headers, o/r catted mid, slp lm's, some kinda roller cam setup which he didnt say the brand, ported and polished stock heads, and 3:90's in the rear..... Deff a soild mid 12 sec car! I also found out he goes to my gym haha so ill be able to find out more, like the cam setup hes got..... Overall, close good race..... sorry for the long story guys hahaha

na, hes never had it dynoed or tracked the car..... he thinks its somewhere around 350-360whp which sounds fair knowin his modds..... that car rips..... ill get the guy to go to the track soon, found out hes goin to the same gym as me... actually i have a guy with a 07 gt500 and now that guy that have sweet cars to track with....

Sounds like he had a stout car. I've heard some people say cams aren't worth it, and others say do them. Nice run!

thats what the man said..... i could have swoar that car was boosted.... at idle the thing is whistling louder then my vortech..... guess ported/polished heads can get that kinda whistle?...... ill talk to the guy next time i see him to see exactly what cams hes runnin......

yea it was stout.... impressive..... he did say that his dad has a new maro ss with intake/tune and it slowly walks away from him toward the top of 4th..... to top it off he says his bud with a ls1 maro would prob like a run with my car now..... think i might have my hands full with the ls1..... time for parts????? hahaha

Nice story. Get some gears put in and notice the difference. I had 4.10's before I was blown so they stayed in. Gear changes happen fast but the spped goes up fast too ;)
