If you don't mind pulling the trans down every now and then for maintenance, you could go for it. But the way I see it, if shifting is that critical for something you drag race, then you may as well get a built auto setup for that.

Thats usually all I ever do. Having the strip an hr and half away (draging a trailer) is just to far for me to go as much as I would like. Just put new suspension in. Going to try for a new PB into the 12's. I will send you a Pm when I look to go. Would like to see your car.

Yep. That thing works so good I feel like it's cheating. It can hold an entire 20 lbs bag of ice. I could probably make two runs per bag, splitting the bag into 10 lbs portions. I found ice here for $2.49 a bag, so I just use an entire bag.

holy smokes.. you use the entire 20 lbs. bag of ice??

Do you have any pics of this set up or is "hush hush"??

If I ever go with a charge cooler I might be interested in a similar set up.

I can take some pictures. It's nothing complicated. The woman has my camera so let me get and hopefully I can snap some photos today.

Still haven't cleaned my car and changed tires since the track.

^^ that would be cool.

I thought about when I get an charger cooler if it's going to be a air/water charge cooler or an air to air intercooler. If I do go with the air/water cooler, this ice box mod would be a great addition!
