Default New Personal Best

Lastnight I was finally able to race on a prepped track. What a difference!! I did test and tune on a day they were bracket racing. The track was hooking very good.

The first pass felt really good when I made it. Launched at 3000ish just to see how the track was hooking. Launched, bogged and then finished the pass. 11.72 @113. The ET seemed normal but the MPH should have been 122ish.

My wife came up to me and was excited that I had ran my best pass. It was actually a 11.56 @ 121.something. Awesome. They had given me the wrong time slip at the booth.

2nd pass. Launched at 4,000, hooked, perfect shifting, 11.39@121.8 (I think)

3rd Pass. 11.38 @121.1

4th pass 11.41 @121.xx

These times were .3 better than my average from last time. A well prepped track and a better DA, between 1800 ft and 2200 ft, gave me my best times.

Looking forward to getting a real tire and pulling a low 1.5xx 60'

My 60' for the three good runs were 1.60-1.62.

Nice! I know its a challenge to hook with so much low end, but it looks like you did a damn fine job considering you're pulling 1.6s.

Do you DD that car?

How's the engine built? Compression low enough to up the boost? Or do you plan to keep the engine as-is?

I work four days a weeks and probably drive it 75% of the time. Sometimes I need the truck or one is low on fuel so I drive the other.

I am waiting for my tranny to blow. That and the drive line are the only stock pieces in the drivetrain. After that i will get some really big slicks in the back and go for a 10 second pass.

Teksid block
Diamond pistons
Kellog crank
Forget who made the H beam rods.

Rated to 1000hp says the builder.

Done.

The air here is usually really bad after the spring and doesn't improve until October. But I hunt all of October so I usually don't race.

I will try racing at Sacramento and see what happens. It's usually faster by a few tenths for cars like mine.

Well, that's the nature of this hobby, as I'm sure you're fully aware of at this point, lol. Any idea which trans you may go with once the stock one lets loose? Viper spec T-56 possibly?

There are a few companies that rebuild and upgrade our current transmission to be rated around 750HP. They also change a few things inside the tranny to make them proshifted, which is basically powershifting.

I looked into getting a liberty tranny. The type that has a clutch to start with but is clutchless afterwards. It's a "W" or "N" pattern. They are very expensive, noisey and not built for street use. I drive my car so much on the street that it has to be streetable.

Depending on when it blows, I may put in a built automatic. Either a 4r70w or a Turbo400. That would be the fastest combination by far. But pricey.
