Sure, but both cars were automatics. So it was point and steer.

Wouldn't be too hard for a tuned '11 GT to beat an auto LS2 Vette.

I took an LS2 C6 from a dig in my modded 3 valve S197 (in sig) up to 100 mph. He was coming on around at that point however. I basically was able to leave harder than he was with my manual (he was auto) and powershift to keep the edge, but once I got into a gear I couldn't shift out of, the more powerful car started doing work.

Hey John Z quick question for you. I plan on getting a GT this spring. I noticed you have both an auto and a manual. Whats your thoughts on both? My wife wants an auto. I'd prefer a stick but could live with the auto if performance is in the same ballpark.

Honestly... with the clutch issues the manuals are having... I'd go with the automatic. I'm having more fun with the auto than with the stick anyways. Plus once stall converters are readily available, nothing will be able to touch the automatic. These things are gears so aggressive too. 4.15 first gear ratio will take just about any street car out the hole.
