I raced a Ferrari 458 Italia today.
 

I was driving on the 210 fwy in Cali and I see an Orange Ferrari 458 Italia in the slow lane. I did not think to even challenge him because I knew what the outcome would be with my stock 5.0. But here comes a Black Charger SRT8 coming up on the Ferrari at around 90. He rides his tail for a little so the Ferrari gets over and drops his gear. I hear his high reving engine start to scream so I punch it. At first I kept up for like half second then he pulled away. What was surprising is that he didn't beat me as bad as I thought he would. Definitely fun.

So where was the Charger after all of this ?

Surprised the 458 didn't burst into flames after that...

I hadnt heard that in a while. I remember all the probs they had with the glue and fires. Ferrari fixed that problem quick, but not quick enough as a few were lost on Ferraris dime.

I know you weren't giving it your all. I think you would kill the Ferrari. ok, ok maybe I am a bit biased but man that is pretty cool. Not many people can say they raced a Ferrari.

I thought it had something to do with the heat shield or intake or something? At least, that's what someone told me a long time ago.

The fires were caused by the heating left and right heat shield assemblies. Once they got close enough to the exhaust, the glue melted off and went into the exhaust system.

Once that happens, you've got a nice Ferrari Flambe.

The Charger saw the 5.0 and wanted nothing to do with the race.
