My V6 vs. GTO

I guess it depends really. From a roll you're probably right that a 6.0 would take the win. About 2 years ago at Lapeer Dragway there was a guy with a geared and bolt on 4.0L with a 100 shot running low 13's @ 102-103 mph. He was running 17" rims with some sort of drag radial.

if so he's since X-charged it and intercooled it and is running 12.7's @ 104-105MPH (not sure on the trap but he did run a best of 12.7, although he AVERAGES around low 13's usually) and with that run he was running very lightweight rears and he's not stock suspension-wise... it's a strong running car no doubt
you're going to need more than a 102-103MPH trap to SMOKE a 6.0L GTO... especially a manual, as a best I think stock they have been around 109MPH... but that is a rarity, usually they sit pretty right around 106MPH, although the manuals will more often than not E.T. higher than the automatics, so it's a give and take
I'm not saying it wouldn't be close but the definite edge would be to the GTO

A: It's not a 2011
B: Does the word tool mean anything to you?
C: Give it a rest.
D: Not all of us have God's gift to racing like you.
A nice young kid has a great time and lots of excitement getting his *** handed to him. Is that a reason for you to be an *** to him?

that was probably one of the guys I roll with, was it black with white stripes and an auto?

Don't get me wrong, i totally agree with you on the whole 6.0L vs 4.0L + 100 shot idea. The only hope for the stang would be if he can hook well from a dig, and the goat can't.

nah, he swapped to lightweight 15" rears with wide sticky Dr's and a lightweight alloy up front and ran in the middle of October when it was under 60 degrees lol
they have been trying to get me to join Mocsem for awhile, I just have never got around to it lol... I will eventually though

I occasionally bring one of my buddy's along who has a 06 GTO. They don't give him to much crap j/k.

GTOs are quick, OP... well, the LS2 (05-06) GTOs are. The LS1 GTOs do ok too, but there is a big difference between the two. I had an auto LS1 with longtubes, cat-back, intake, tune, and DRs. I pulled a 12.8 at 109 out of it. A good stall probably would've dropped that ET a good bit, maybe a mid 12 or better. At any rate, I was basically running neck and neck with well driven TUNED LS2 GTOs. With bolt ons, LS2 GTOs pulled me up top pretty good. To be expected, they have an extra 50hp to begin with. Good run man, even if you got pulled. Its fun to run win or lose.
