On my way back to work on my lunch break I get what appears to be a real nice black cobra all over my bumper on the exit ramp. I jump over to the left lane to see if he bites.... but he shakes his head no.

We cruise thru traffic, and at the last light before my work, we get lined up, first in traffic, side by side. I look over, hes staring straight ahead. On green, we both take off aggressively, and when I hear him get it, I lay into myself. Surprisingly, no pull on his part, top of first he may have a bumper on me. Powershift second and keep getting it, pulling 2ish cars on him by the time I have to shift to 3rd. By then I figured he let out, and let him come up beside me. He rolls down the window and asks what year. I say "v-6, 2012".... I may have broken his heart. He tries to ask me something else, sounded like about gears, but then he waved me off and dropped a gear. I drop it to second, and commence to pulling. I shifted to 3rd, and after seeing the puff of black smoke in the mirror from his shift, I stayed in it. By 100-110 it was at least 3 cars worth of distance between us. I busted a uie with my thumb out the window, he gave a honk, but stared straight ahead.

Now, folks will throw cobra emblems on anything, I know. But if this was a clone, it was a good one. Front bumper, front emblem, side emblems, and chrome cobra r's. There was a different looking spoiler on it, not sure if it was cobra-specific or not. I didnt think to look at the rear bumper, but I did notice the taillights, which told me the year model. Sounded great, but just not enough mods for todays tech....

Nice kill.. if he was stock/near stock you really wouldn't have much of a problem beating him. (if memory serves they were mid 14s in the mid to upper 90s for traps).

Nah, even in Cobra trim these little v6's wouldn't/shouldn't have any problem. He yelled out something about "390", Im thinking he was asking about the gears in the car. Good thing I didn't yell back "2.73s"

I really dont wanna come off as a douche when I tell folks it's a v6, after beating them... but Im so damn proud of what it can do! The 2 guys this has happened to, their faces have been PRICEless!

Thats a 5.0 Cobra, correct? Good run man, that "lil" V6 is stout. Good run dude. I've been looking for one wanting to run out of curiosity sake. I just want to see one in action, in person.

Nice run! Stock those cobras are only 240 hp and the 5.0 will do nowhere near as good as your DOHC at high speeds

Thanks guys! Stone I think if you kept the race short it wouldn't be too fun for the v6. Even up in the mphs a stock one would have its hands full against the ss.

Now our stepmoms car would be different. Cai/tune/ab and it scoots! Can't wait to get a couple extra $s to play with.

Good run man!!! The out come sounds about right for a lightly modded 5 oh cobra.

I just wish I could come across some random runs like you do!!! When i'm out riding I never see a pssible race nore does anyone run up on me like that trying to run lol.

Good kill, I would assume you'd win. Those things are 5.0's with GT40 heads/intake and make about 210-220rwhp.
