Default New PB + other Awesomeness **VIDS**

So, my brother (89lx) and I made it to the local 1/8th mile last night for a little bit o fun. I was running my setup... bone azz stock, lol, and he was on his new setup, but on street tires... (More on that in a minute).

Although the weather was great, low 80's, the DA was still 2800'. Still ended up being a great night. My pb before was a 9.07 @ 81.

Here's a real quick lil walkaround of our rides....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xlZzg8tQS40

This is my first run of the night. I came to the track looking for an 8sec slip of anykind....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgcOlTk8dEs

Backed it up with this run, against a stock '95 GT.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNj8XClvau4

My best run of the night didn't get recorded, but it was an 8.94 @ 83.87... on a 2.09 60'

Now for the real impressiveness, imo anyways. My brothers dr's/slicks are shot, so he was running his skinnies up front, and his ROH's on the back with freakin "Achilles" brand 205/55/16 street tires! This fool almost matched his best time on his new setup on "slicks"!(Excuse the massive header leak )

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSWi5...eature=related

His best 60' of the night was a damn 1.84..... on 205 street tires! IMO that's pretty damn good, haha.

Sorry for all the vids, I have a Richard Simmons computer, and editing is pretty non-existant. Fun fun night though! Thanks for taking a look!

Yea man it was a great night!!! That little 3.7 was moving out!!! Great times and I'm loving the mph, and hopefully we can go through with the plan for next week and if,so some even more impressive things are gonna come from the 12 lol.

As far as my p.o.s. I had the itch to run but had no "good" tires so I slapprd on what I've always called the hookinest 205's I've ever seen. Just like my brother I had a goal in mind not knowing if I could reach it being on the baby tires.

First pass launched 1200 dead hooked
2.11 60'
8.37@87.54

2nd pass launch at 3000 slight slipping the clutch
2.00 60'
8.22@87.57

3rd run nice cool down launched at 4000 little clutch slip
1.90 60'
8.074@88.00

4th run
1.89 60'
8.11@87.65

5th run
1.87 60'
8.08@87.43

6th run
1.84 60'
8.072@87.18
I was very very surprised and impressed. The little tires are 24.88in tall so it gave me a little more gear close to a 3.90 or so.

The last track visit was on 255/60/15 et dr's with only a 1.87 60' and I was able to pull a 1.84 60' on 255/50/16 et dr's. So with that said I'm going to look into finding a 245 wide achilles tire like what I have now lol.

Sorry for the long post and semi high jack.

BTW I still feel like crap not getting the 8.94 run on filmI was too worried about finding my phone in the stands :/

Nice work on both you guy's parts!

97, that 3.7 is hauling *** for a bone stock car. Who would of thought that the V6 Stangs would've come this far. You have definitely got the driver mod down. Pulling a 2.0 in that car on stock gearing, etc, says a lot. Wonder what you did differently to gain a tenth and 3 mph? That ET and trap shows a 13.7-8ish 1/4 imo, from a stock 3.7, lol! Just a tune and some gears would do that car justice.

89, thats crazy man. A 1.8 on those damn tires, lol. I wasn't expecting the board to flash 88 mph either, that's a strong trap on that low 60'. Looks like those other tires just don't get along as well with your gearing like the Achilles do. Nice work fellas.

Wow, impressive times for both cars. FWIW the best 60 ft time I've ever had was 1.84, with a 2800 stall and Nitto 555Rs. With an LS1 providing the push.

Thanks stone!! I think next week we might try the ghetto gearing mod on the 3.7 if he's up for it...

I don't know whats up with my car tho.... It's never liked dr's at the stripbut that thing LOVES slicks, once i can afford another pair of slicks I plan on doing some high launches and runningaround 7.7's-7.6's hopefully a touch over 90.... We will see tho.

Thanks bro, I've definately been super pleased with how it's running, and how I'm able to get it down the track. It's pretty easy to be consistant though, just 1 shift and stand on the go pedal!

IDK what was so different about last night really. The air was probably slightly better than my first trip, but 2800' isn't exactly ideal. I think it was mainly just the + - 3k more miles on the motor that helped. I tripped 5k on the way home, and I was right around 2k when I was out last time. That and dropping the 60' down a little added up for some solid runs! It is frustrating to see other cars trapping what I do and pulling 8.50's, but thats 2.73's and topend for ya....

Also, did a couple visual mods today. Not thread worthy, not in this section anyways, but thought Id slide a few pics in this one

Got my dads stock 18's off of his '11 gt. They only of 1k miles on'em, and he swapped out the center caps for the pony ones, which go great with the black car.

While they were off, we painted the calipers black, which cleaned the whole look up

AND the 3.7 badges, just like the 5.0 ones, which set the whole car off. Im loving the new look!

All cleaned up!

Pretty solid times. The 3.7 badge is some funny stuff. If that dont provoke some street fun your not trying hard enough.

Those wheels made a hell of a difference too. Looks damn good with those wheels on her.

Thanks guys.... I cant believe I forgot this.... I may be the only v6 in the country that now has a Boss 302..... steering wheel, lol. Its pretty slick, wrapped in suede, much better then the base model plastic wheel, lol....

And don't worry, I try n provoke any runs I can. My bro tried to get this cat with a pi swapped sn95 to run me last night, but he didn't want any of it. The car runs good too, 8.49 in the 8th, but for some reason he didn't bite
