Good point, I ran a model with the V10... not the V8.

I was still surprised by the outcome from when I ran him though. We have roughly the same rear wheel and my car weighs about 100lbs less.

Those cars do have a significant areo advantage over an S197, especially a '05-'09.

Would the whole mid engine layout have anything to do with it too? Better grip off the line?

V8 model traps 111-116 stock
V10 model traps 121-126 stock

Huge differance but for a stock 5.0 to keep up with either is impressive

It was definitely the v8. Ive never raced my 5.0 before really, its brand new and Im still getting use to it so I suppose I could have gotten a little more lead if I had dropped it to 4th at first.

I was cruising in 6th at 75mph and dropped it to 5th- it was literally dead even accept he started to pull slightly around 100-110 but after 130 he started slipping back a little..

BTW what is the top speed on a completely stock 5.0? and what are the optimal shift points when racing of course? 6th Im guessing is worthless as its OD

Totally in love with this car- best money ive ever spent!

Nice run, I would believe it! I got a ridealong in a V8 R8 and was not overly impressed with the acceleration. The V10 version is probably a whole different story.

The v10 will run away from a car trapping under 115. The v10 tops at 197 and the v8 at 187 per the good old Internet. It's a pretty solid bet it was a v8 model.
