Apparently the v8 R8 only makes 414hp and weighs 3450lbs, 1/4 mile is listed as 12.5. Seems close enough to a stock 5.0 to me lol

The v8 is really more of a grand tourer than a super car, but good run regardless.

I was going to ask..but I assumed the 5.0 has a usable 5th gear...

5th Gear @ 70 in a 3.55 or even a 3.73 Gear car would put the RPM's between 1800-2300. So, at a super low RPM in a gear that isn't exactly a strong pulling car, he managed to stay dead even with a similar powered lighter car that is a top end monster?

We all know the V8 R8 is not that impressive from a dead stop, or really in a 1/4, however, they do run mid 12's @ 113-115, which is slightly faster than a well driven stock 5.0

Regardless, the driver may have sucked, and a win is a win.

The 5th gear is very usable!

Not that it really matters at this point but i was going roughly 80mph when i dropped it to 5th and not sure about the RPM's but I ride at 2k in 6th going 80mph. I should have dropped it to 4th but at 4am cruising I wasn't exactly in the mood you could say. At first I thought some random dude is on my *** I'll just push 6th a little more, then when it got closer I just dropped it to 5th to get it off my ***.. When I finally took a look I should have been in 5th anyway.

Oh well lol- now that theres snow on the ground it looks like its a accord weather till april!

Ugh.. why 5th? 80mph and I certainly would have gone for 3rd (in mine of course)... I can't believe the 5.0s trans ratios are so bad that 5th was a good pick.
