Vortech 2v vs my fast 292 Fox
Well me and the guy that I ran has had some history on some trash talking and what not..... I know the last time we saw each other my car was down with the blown up trans and some nice words was shared lol
Anyways his car is a NE GT 5sp with a vortech at 10psi non intercooled, 3.73's, o/r h-pipe and a cat back with nitto dr's. I know when the last owner had the car it made 354whp but that was with a stock midpipe.... I know this guy got some issues fixed and put the midpipe and gears in and got a retune, and I caught word that it made 379whp but I could be wrong.....
My car 87 GT with Trickflow heads, **tty BBK SSI intake mani, 1.72 rockers, full bolt on's, and 3.73's 292whp 328wtq
He wanted a 35 roll and earlier in the night my car was hooking from a 40 roll so I said ok!
1st run 3rd honk we hit it, and my car went right to the rev limiter spinning so I started to pedal it then slammed 3rd and spun a bit more and him pulling out a 1/2 car after all that. As I run 3rd on out he inches a little bit more on me and I pull 4th holding my ground then he starts to pull close to the top of my 4th and puts another 1/2 car on me with a bumpers gap between his back bumper and my front.
2nd run same 35 roll 3rd honk we go at it and I was pedaling it off the get go then shift early into 3rd and hooked on up with him sitting side by side with me. As I run 3rd on out he puts a fender on me I slam 4th and hang on in there then close to the top of 4th he starts to pull again and me shutting down at the rev limiter with my front bumper at his rear tire.
We pull back into the hangout spot and he asked me again if I was spraying (he asked that 3 times before the runs) I said no and my buddy showed him the dyno sheet and he seemed pretty baffled at the power and didn't have much to say to me about the race except he saw my *** end kicking out a bit.
All in all I'm very proud of how my car is doing out on the streets other than my current spinning issue haha but that will be soon fixed!.

With your race weight being 4-500 pounds lighter than his, that power gap is pretty much canceled out.
Good runs man. It has to feel damn good to take an old 87 with 292 RWHP and do work like that! One of these days I'm going to get a run against that Fox, lol.

Good job in hanging right there with the blown 2V!! Your car runs very good for the mods and the driver mod is always on your side!!
It is always fun when you run someone and they are expecting to 'kick your butt' and when it doesn't happen they don't know what to think.
If you WERE spraying it would have been very ugly for him!! (after you stopped spinning of course).

I knew I was gonna be one hell of a run and U'm pretty pisitive the kid thought he was gonna run away from me... When we last talked he had asked how much power I had and I told him I'd be luck to see 300whp and he replied "then why are you even trying to run me??" That pissed me off lolbc people are so blind about power to weight haha
Im not gonna lie I think its pretty bad *** at how well the car does for the lack of cam and a better intakeand for only having the power it does. Don't worry stone one day soon enough we'll line em up but by then you'll have full bolt on's gear stsll and retune and put about 3 cars on me lol I'm not gonna lie you have by far the most impressive LS1 for the mods that I've ever seen!!! I can't wait to see it move out in person!

sounds like a typical dyno ***. Bet he keeps a dyno sheet ready in his glove box... probably has extras to give away at car shows.
292 eh? Pretty good for that intake and stock cam. I would say the dyno is a tad happy though.

I don't believe he is but atm I guess I am bc I haven' lt thouggt about takung the sheet out of my car haha.... But yea 292 is what the dyno said. 286hp 322tq uncorrected if that's better for you. Its the same dyno my brothers 3.7 made 279hp 270tq on my buddies T/A made 331hp 336tq on along with my buddies 90 coupe with bolt on tfs stage 1 cam poted gt40 heads and explorer intake made 263whp 306wtq on and right before his runs my bolt on e7 explorer intake car put down 253whp 300wtq on.... If you ask me the dyno seems to read normal for a dyno jet.
Oh and btw the 12.82@105.92 was with my e7 heads..... So yea with my added 40hp and 28tq with 100pounds less in weight the car isn't gonna have a problem with low 12's.... And if I push the car hard enough 11.99 shouldn't be out the question.

I would love to cam it and hear that thing pound the ground but I would want some thing that is very boost friendly for my future mods, and I would probably go on and swap intakes then as well. But first up for mods is a new maf, fuel pump, and my 24# injectors and maybe a tune if I get this deal worked out with trading work haha.
