If you guys only knew how magazines like Road and Track test car you would not put any stock in the numbers. They actually launch all cars at the RPM, for example (lets use 3500 rpm for the sake of argument) they launch a Viper at 3500 and it smokes the tires, next they test a Civic and it bogs at 3500. Thats why in the real world cars often go faster than what the magazines rate them. Jdan just keep thinking the Z06 C6 runs low 12's, not saying you won't beat a stock one but come on man, look at what every other test is getting out of them.

Honestly I can't believe some of the animosity 'vettes get around here, not in this post but on the forum in general. I personally like 'vettes and a 427 powered RWD american sportscar gotta love that. On the other hand I have to spend a lot more money now to ever out class a zo6 in my lil 'stang.

Unless there is a Ford GT or Ferarri Enzo owner here, no one in this thread has a car that, stock for stock, will hang with a new Z06 in any performance category (Birdieman's straight line sled notwithstanding). It is simply a superior piece of automotive machinery.
And whoever drove it to a 12.3 @ 116 is missing a chromosome or something.

The biggest thing that gets me, is the speed R & T got in the 1/4. 116 is a big enough jump down from the 125-127 mph #. No matter how they run it, hooking up or not, the top end speed shouldn't change that much. It would almost dictate that the car hooked well, but the 12.3 et doesn't show it. A 10 mph difference in the top end speed is a lot. We are talking about a BIG variance in reported #'s. Was the car sick? Did R & T not 'drive' it properly? -Or is this car truly not as fast as GM has reported? You gotta wonder.
