Just raced a 350Z, stoplight to stoplight. My 2010 V6 has 91 race tune, BBK cai, and dual exhaust. I was on my way home from work and I was waiting at a red light when a 350Z pulled up next to me. I was just minding my business still waiting on the light. I knew this guy wanted to race because he was just pulling forward as the light was about to turn green just to be ahead of me. Once the light turned green, he was just about to take off when he must have heard my exhaust because suddenly he just stopped in the middle of the street until I got ahead of him. I guess he wanted to take a look at the faux gas cap to see what he was about to get himself into. He must have seen the pony tri-bar logo so he gunned it. I always wanted to see how I'd stack up against a 350Z now that I'm lightly modded, so I pushed it too. Keep in mind that he floored it about a second before I did, so he was ahead of me. My car kept up really well, I was right on his tail the whole time, and we kept the same distance the whole race. He never had any open space from his spoiler to my front bumper. We reached the next stoplight, where my right turn came up. I rolled my window down just to give him a quick nod and he nodded back and gave me a thumbs up. I lost this race, but I was happy to see that I can now keep up with a 350Z. I hope some 4.10 gears will have those Zs seeing my tail lights, but that'll be later on in the future.

I didnt think the ol torque monsters would hold up that well against a z, even with those mods.... nice run!

Nice run..really matters what year 350Z you run into.... the early ones are 14 second cars...the later ones (HR) are bottom 13s with 106+ traps (looking at bests here).

The torque monster impresses once again.

Yeah, a tune and cai works wonders on these 05+ Mustangs. A stock 4.0 is rated at 240 torque, and if I'm not mistaken, a Z has around 265. If the power gains AM advertises with 93 octane are true (23 ft/lbs torque), the race tune should bring you up to 263. The only difference would be in horsepower.

Yeah, I thought so. It must have been one if the early models if I kept up with it cuz I highly doubt I'm running 13s. I must be around mid to high 14s, never been to a track.

Good run man! I raced a 350 a long time ago and fared decently lol. Not sure if it was the new motor, but I never really got to pull on him. I just remember it being a really nice white finish.

What speeds did you get to? I never go over 100ish usually as these 4.0s run out of breath and so do the drive shafts lol.
