Street tires don't really get greasy when heated, thats a myth. It just doesnt do any good. The reason you do want to spin them over a few times is so that you can pick up some track rubber and VHT. My car kicks up sand/rocks hours after I leave the track. I've always spun mine just enough to smoke a tad. Ensures the tires are fully dried and wrapped up with track rubber.
TO each his own. My tires on my 06 on this side of the border go for about $300 each installed. I never had tracton issues and all that I ever did was dry hops like I said.
