'12 3.7 v6 vs '11 Subie STi Round 2 *VID*

Me and the wife were riding up the 'strip' this evening when I see the subie I ran the other day coming up quick! I get'em to pull over so we could shoot the sh!t. He's a young kid, 19, but super cool guy. My brother shows up, and we talk for over an hour.

I asked if he'd been weighed yet, so we went to the little scale spot that my brother and I knew about. (car weighed 3080 with 3/4 tank) On the way, we got a couple more runs in. :D My brother was with him, and filmed the action.

First run was a 2nd gear roll to about 110ish, close to the top of 4th for me. Run 2, low 1st gear roll to 120. Run 3 was a 2nd gear roll through 4th.

Good job!! Was the wife still in the car for the runs?

Yessir, she actually just shut up and held on! Lol, couldn't believe I didn't hear any sh!t for this one! Just a highfive when it was over! :D We were about even as far as the weight of passengers in each car.

I was surprised at the turnout, ended up being 2+ cars by 120. Maybe I put more on'em than I thought last time, dunno. Converted another non-mustang liker into a v6 enthusiast :D

Holy hell man, you walked him pretty good! I thought the new STI would pull harder than that, didn't realize they were that light either.

Question for anyone that knows...if the that STI had a good tune and an off-road exhaust, would it pull on 97, run even, or walk him hard?

Nice work 97, once again you come through with a follow up vid :D

IMO intake/tune would put him at least even with me. Add exhaust and more boost it'll start getting ugly for me!

It wont be long either. He works for his dads electric company, so he has the monies. Said he paid $34k for the car.... 19 years old... I couldnt imagine lol

Like I said, super cool kid. We stopped again, shook hands, and talked for another hour about our rides!

High dollar ride for a 19 year old, but hey, as long as he's working and paying for it I respect that.

I'm thinking the same, intake and tune should make a HUGE difference.

I expected you to win but like it has been stated, not by that much, great kills! Also agree with Stone, I did not expect the Subie to be that light. Very surprising. Would have guessed something more around 3300lbs.

All of us were suprised at the weight I google it and 2 sites said anywhere from 3375-3400 as a curb weiggt. I saw the scales tho 3080 w/o driver and 3240 with driver so who the hell knows lol the sti def felt strong and torquey down low but on the initial hit there is a little lag bc of tge turbo and electric tb... Needless to say the guy was very impressed with the 3.7

Tell him to brake boost next time. Zero lag.
