1st time at track =(

.3" off the 60' is worth way more than .3" at the end of the run. Expect to double your time savings with what you shave off your 60'. Or more, depending on how well you shift.
And... don't feel bad. Here's a video of my third time down the strip in my '12! I think I got a 13.high something.

It got better, though...
That's a 0.078 variance over three runs in a manual. Those were runs 7-9 (the week after). Since I haven't taken the car to the strip since then, the 12.759 remains my best time. That was on the stock Brembo package tires.

I've only been to the strip once. Best pass was 13.895, was averaging right at 14 flat. Never broke 100mph though, which confused me for being in the 13's... Hope to return in the Spring and get that 12.999

I'd really like to get under a 2.0 60', but last time I ran the track (the 1/8th mile mentioned) my car felt like a dog... I may take it down to the Palm Beach International Fun Ford Weekend. It's Sept 14-15.

if manual, and your bogging not spinning, increase launch rpm
if you just spin when trying these, youll probably need better tires or a better track to get a good 60 foot

I've really been considering a GoPro camera lately, pretty much just for the car. Besides making some awesome rolling footage, would be great at the track for recording yourself.

Look at your own timeslips; they completely contradict your statement.

don't worry too much.. I always see a orange 302 at the track and have NEVER seen him run better than a 13.1@111mph.. STOCK tires
He fights for traction EVERYTIME. It's not his first Mustang, and he's an old timer. You have the power, if you anything, you should invest in some tires (bias ply racing tire or a drag radial) and just NAIL it off the line!
Cut that 60 ft. down to 1.8/1.7 and you'll slash your times by a large margin!
Myself, I focused solely on transmission mods and the launch and have been rewarded with 1.8 60 fts. and a full second off my stock times (13.9@98mph), now 12.9@104mph.
I also have AWD and a 5.7 motor with about 415-420trq. (crank) so it's a little different lol
