Default 392 0-60 killl

With summer around the corner, I see a lot of nice cars on the road.

I notice a blue Challenger 392 fish tailing into the center lane around my neighborhood.. so the race begins!

I follow him to the red light and post up.

I hear him rev and try to take off at WOT.. Bad mistake. All I hear is wheelspin and burn out city. I flash the converter to 3500 and take off with all four wheels screeching! By then, I can see him trying to catch up. I am two cars ahead and still pulling strong the entire time, but we both approach traffic so we both slow down..

he also calms down and follows suit without incident.

I also back off and make my exit onto the highway.

Pretty sure he was surprised by a plain black Charger lol

470hp/4500 lb. cars on street tires don't run 11's out of the box.. they run 13.8's@118mph. I know he might have won on the big end, but from light to light and on the street. I clearly have the advantage rofl

They don't run 118 MPH out of the box either. Maybe 114 and that is usually the automatic cars. We saw a lady with a 392 Charger with 30 days tags on it run consistent 12.6's @ 113 MPH last December at our local 1/4 mile track.

Your car would be hard to beat 0-60 against most cars that don't have some type of sticky tire on it.

lol I was being sarcastic with the "13.8@118mph" in reference to a street tire and not having traction, hence nothing but wheelspin but a fat trap speed. I seen plenty of those types of cars at my track (street tires). You'd expect some decent ET's but the traps are usually the higher numbers

My 08 supercharged Mustang GT was horrible on street tires.. it was no fun at all on the street from a deadstop. I remember those days quite well lol

Good run, Stealth. Your car is the Charger version of the SRT-8 Cherokee. Pretty badazz in other words. That ride has got to be a blast to DD, stop light to stop light rapeage, etc..

Just have to make sure you race only from stop lights... Lol. I remember being next to an evo at a red light and he tried to bait me into a run... I breezed off as he hammered on it.. Then I rolled up in 2nd at 55mph and he bit... Sucker. . I do wish I had AWD for the occasional stop light run... It's pointless to even attempt it with how much wheel spin I get through first gear.

Good kill stealth.

Ditto! It's a real shame the 09-10 AWD Charger RT's popularity really didn't catch on, until the 2011+ years came about. Too bad they're also about 300lbs. heavier!

It's a lot of fun pulling up to a stop light in the summer for sure. Everyone's got their toys out of storage and ready to run! I usually let off after a (semi) sane speed, say 65ish, after putting an initial few car lengths unless I am going onto the highway then maybe a little higher but never triple digits. Amazing how many fly bys I see that way though lol

No roll races for this tank lol

I'd attempt it but what's the point with a so much mass! rofl

Nice kill on the Evo as well

AWD is real blast to run for fun on the street! The best thing about it is that it's not like those imports with boosted 2.0 liters, it's more or less 410+lbs. (crank) of torque right off idle since I have the 3500 stall

It was a number of years back..pretty sure I posted on here... I was stock and he was real dumb and pushed me far into the triple digits (I actually popped my 5th gear synchro during the run). After I talked to him I found out he had enough mods that a stop light race would have embarrassed me badly. haha

I notice most EVO's are pretty damn quick from DIG with mods, some even from a roll.

Pretty slick to bait him into a roll race lol

Luckily, not everyone knows how to launch those cars just right..
