I went to the drag yesterday with my new clutch same short shifter and tranny,
It was awful every ****ing time i tryed to quick shift, nothing happened, i couldnt get in gear, there was a long no-sound delay trying to push the gear in,
I would launch at 3500rpm with DR spin a bit then get in two slowly with easily 1 sec delay to get in the gear, then a slow *** shift to 3 and miss the 4 for a good 1.5 second trying everything fuel n reclutch etc the ****ing gear would not grind or what ever, it is just like nothing was happening. I did 3 run and not once it shifted correctly, last run i used all my strenght to get the gear in and ended doing worst, i was so **** off and ashamed, can this be my new clutch that suck *** and need perfect rpm to shift correctly? My tranny ? Or my stupid cheap *** shortshift? Every time i try to back(reverse) in my entry, i cant get the gear in reverse, i have to put it in 1 or 4 then quickly in reverse otherwise it impossible. **** im seriously getting tired of all this bullcrap. When i put back my rims and headed home, car was shifting perfect, i also used the shifting method some of you guys posted in here, last year my clutch sucked and i would get stuck in gear all the time but never did i had problem quick shifting,

Are you letting off the gas to shift? I think it's the shifter. Either get a MGW or some CHE torque limiters.

See post #3 by Slink here>> https://mustangforums.com/forum/2005...r-b-and-m.html

Yes i do lets the gas off while clutching, i have no idea what a torque limiter is, i though it was for automatic.. The problem is i was able to shift tight last year at the strip with that shortshift, seems like my new clutch is more vicious...sigh

my 2013 is the same way the stock shifter is just garbage. The MGW shifter will take car of that.

Check to make sure your shifter hasn't gotten loose. If that's not it, to me it sounds like your new clutch might not be adjusted correctly. Could be a bad cable, might need a quadrant, or anything really. Figure it out before you run anymore.

Air in the system is a pain. Also look for wear on the shift fork. Slave could be bad. All stuff it's just easier (but more expensive) when doing a clutch job.
