Blown mustang at 8 lbs...my mods are listed in my sig and I have 315 drs and 5 speed. Bros car was stock at the time other then his 315s in the rear and hes a 6 speed. Were neck and neck almost every race. When I launch the car I win. He now has longtubes and a tune so I haven't been able to race him again. Came to find out at the time we were racing my fuel pump was not giving me enough fuel past 5000 rpms at 333rwhp so I replaced it. Just letting some of you know what it takes to keep up with an LS1. He put down the same power on the dyno stock and had more torque down low.

I wanna run a new 5.0 how do you think that would turn out? I've never ran at a track but I've owned the car a couple years so I know how to drive it.

Are those #'s normal for that blower kit at that boost? Just curious, thought it'd be alittle more but if that pump was not helping matters, what should they be?

As for the new 5.0's, I'd wait till you install your future mods.

I keep up with the majority of LS1s just fine. I doubt a few more pounds of boost will have you running with a 5.0 idf your neck and neck with a stock LS1.

The pump limited where the car was seeing full boost I should be 360-390 rwhp. 12 lbs will put me around 430 rwhp which will make a big diff with longtubes. 5.0s put down 370 rw from the factory but are heavier. I've beat ls1s before and c5 vettes, modded srts, sti's ect. His car is just a freak.

His car isn't a freak. You were having fuel trouble. It pretty much takes a blower to get a 2V to the point that it can actually pull on an LS1 though. Once he starts modding he'll probably start pulling on you depending on what all he does. If he starts doing things like heads/cam, your prob done for though.

I agree with you completely although with his mods I can get more boost so I think we'll still be close. However having owned an ls1 they are torque monsters and great on top end. If we go past 110 he would probably leave me.
