pitty those v-6's

well i have a 2000 Ford zx2 s/r with only a few mods, and i really love mustangs and plan to get one soon, but i was checking out some stangs at this dealership and when i pulled out i saw a riced out mustang drive by.. so i laughed and said im gona go race this duetsch bag, (how could you dare body kit a stang) so i get behind him but there is all tis traffic, we get away from the traffic and come to a stop, i rev it he revs it, the light turns green we take-off and by the time i hit 80 i was winning by 4-5 car lengths.. we race more and i kept winning... lets get this straight, i have the same 2.0 zetec engine like the focus, with limited mods, and i wasted this punk.. what a shame, they should have never put v-6's in a muscle car

1) What year mustang?
2) stick or auto mustang?

If it's a 98 or older mustang, yeah I could see that. They only have like 150 crank HP and 190tq. Those are slow. 99+ manual trannies would have killed you.

What's your car dyno (specify crank or RWHP) and what's your 1/4 mile time?

sorry i haven't taken my car to the dyno, but it is 155 hp at the crank and same in torque, i will go to the strip in about two weeks, and tell you my 1/4 mile times, but honestly my car is kind-of slow, i would say it was a 97-98 stang and it was manual, poor guy, i had a girl and he had a girl, and he lost in front of his girl

bwhahahah...poor guy indeed. I can see you beating that Stang. Hate to say it. With your 155hp and lighter curb weight, I believe it. I don't know about 4-5 car lengths but, depends on how big his girl was. [&:]

ha ha i didnt stay next to him long enough to tell about the girl situation.. ha ha that was a good one, no i bet him pretty bad, i felt bad, but then again (muscle cars and rice should never be combined)

Well dude hate to tell you, but beating a 94-98 V6 isn't saying much. Now yes I know I have a 98 mustang, and even with all of my mods its still not exactly fast. Reason being is that the gears on the damn 94-98s are small as hell. I've been told they were 2.75s maybe smaller. Hell anybody on a bycycle can beat a stock 94-98. Tell you what though, my engines power shure has improved. My needle will jump, not fast, but nicely, and the car will tilt to the left when I rev the engine, just can't get my power to the rear wheels. Damn can't wait to get my 4.10s with a t-lok. Nice race though.[sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif]

yeah you got a point... but thanks, i just want a 94 or 95 5.0 L but a 4.6 would also be awesome

RE: pitty those v-6's

the 94-95 mustangs are the slowest mustangs since the mustang II but the aftermarket parts surpas the 4.6 parts by 10 fold

Well, Mustangs aren't Muscle cars persay. They're pony cars.

but a 99+ V6 is going to hang right with you and with mods will own the ZX2. I'd venture to say you're in the mid to high 15s.
