Cruising to breakfast with the crew and a grabber blue 5.0 gets in the mix, unknow mods, for sure exhaust and he had some 15" Racestars and DR/Slick on the rear.


He pulls along side around 55-60, paces me and I hear him drop a gear or two, so I oblige and drop to 3rd.

He 3 honks the start and I roll into the go pedal, around 3/4 throttle, say 70 mph, I feel the rear start to spin and push left. I'm out on him by maybe a car or so, some foot work with the right gets her back in line and back to WOT, pushing to the redline. Putting some more distance between the cars, I bang 4th and think he's at least 2-3 cars back, let out around 110 or so.


edit - forgot the C6, blower car, he took off after us and was far to my left, he got out on me by a car when I spun, but we stayed even till I let out.



side note - went to run a C7Z06, run from 25 or so, 2nd gear, instantly blew the tires off...

???.... 7 years I've driven my car as a daily on nice days, and I've only been baited once by a Cobalt SS lol. Not that I'm into street racing, but I'll never turn down challenge if it's safe. And by safe I mean not thru a residential neighborhood, school, etc. Common sense

Good story though, good runs.....

thanks for the mini lecture, the pull was done in a area where its 3 lanes, concrete barriers on either side, no entrance ramps around.

He must have been pretty heavily modded to stay that close to your beast

I run 3.73s w/ a 28" tire. Keep in mind I was not, WOT, spun and frankly IDK how far behind he was when I let out. It was a pretty short sprint.

Nice runs. Driving a car like that has to put a grin on your face every time you turn the key.
