but they have more drivetrain loss due to the AWD

RE: Charger R/T?
sorry lee? i was just saying that in the case where i saw an srt8 magnum run, it was slower, but it was AWD...
betty, the srt8 is 425/400..but it weighs so much more than cars that dodge compares them too..its pointless...

RE: Charger R/T?
Yeah, that's what makes it a bit confusing. Some are heavy and slow, some are lighter and faster.
An AWD 340 Hp version can look almost like a 425 HP rear wheel drive version, but there is about 1-1.5 seconds difference in the quarter. Going to take a keen eye to tell the difference: I assume there are different wheels or trim, but frankly I don't know.

RE: Charger R/T?
oh, do you mean about the SRT8 magnum? the magnum has different wheels, fascia, badging, etc.
i went to dodge.com, and it has no mention of an AWD SRT-8 magnum...i know that the 5.7 hemi models of the magnum and 300 offer AWD, but i met a guy in norwalk who had a 6.1L magnum, srt-8 with AWD badging, running mid 13s...he said that it was awd, but i took his word for it, and didnt look under it...on dodge.com it only has a listing for RWD....maybe he was full of crap...

RE: Charger R/T?
According to Motor trend... the R/T has 350hp and runs just over a 14.. and according to another magazine, not sure which one. the srt8 runs a low 13... 425 hp, but at 4160lbs... shes a powerful, but fat ol girl... Ill just wait till I see one on the road... goin to be hard though since a dodge salesman told me they're only makin 1000 of em...

RE: Charger R/T?
Thanks for all the info guys. Apparently I don't have much to worry about since it a friggn' elephant on wheels. What's the aftermarket on those cars? I assume it's not big since they are comming with modified exhaust and such. Who knows? [&:]

RE: Charger R/T?
there are already ALOT of aftermarket parts for the LX platform cars (300, charger, magnum). Ive seen several supercharger kits, headers, and simple stuff like exhaust and intakes. how quick is your subbie masti?

RE: Charger R/T?
Well I haven't been to the track since my mods, so I'm guessing around 12.6 +/- a tenth or two. I plan on getting a custom map and alky injection before the season opens. That means I could "safely" run 4-6 more #s of boost. Hopefull that will knock off a few more tenths.
