Theres a wrx at my school that has turbo, exhuast, intake and, its a 5 speed. And he says he runs mid to low 14s. I have never ran at the track but i got a 99 gt with cold air intake (unknown brand its from the previus owner) magnaflow exhuast (stock heads), superchips tuner, 3.73 gears, subframe connectors, 5 speed, kumho supra tires, eibach pro springs (lowered 1"). Do ya'll think i can take him, he says he will win just cuase he has awd, but i dont think he will. The race wll be at the Temple/Academy dragway this Friday.

If he HONESTLY runs mid to low 14's then it sounds like he needs to get the good driver mod. Your cars setup should be good for high 13's so yes, I think you can beat him.

That is a stock wrx with a couple of bolt ons. Mid 14s is accurate for that car. Your stang should be faster, as long as you can drive you will beat him.

At first I thought his times were off but, then saw that it was a WRX not an STI. I took a lightly modded on in my Npi GT. You should take him with the mods you listed. Get a good launch because that will decide the race. Even though you should beat him, it could go either way if you screw up or his is a fantastic driver. Pray for no spray and get a good launch and report back after the race.

I go to Belton High school and work at a convientent store in Moffatt like 15 minutes away toward gatesville called the triangle. And i am definatly praying he wont get spray and yeah im going to practice launching after work tonight, theres going to be a lot of people from the high school going and were going to video tape it.

Now that I think about it, I doubt that he would get spray in two days unless he already has it an didnt tell you. When I raced the WRX, I was a fender behind him at the launch because I had a nice launch. After that I just crept up to him and got a little ahead. It will all be in the launch. How good a driver is he? AWD is great but you have to be able to launch it right or he will get killed on the launch.

With my luck that would happen, but hopefully not and i don't know how good of a driver he is. He does have experience at the dragstrip though and i don't this will be my first dragstrip run.

Nice man thats sweet if i was in town i would go to TAD and watch but oh well tell us how it goes...try to get some practice runs in so you know the tree well there and the track sucks but itll do you should have him just get your launches down
