In his defense, tires make a huge difference in the quarter mile. Every tenth of a second you shave off your 60 foot equals about a tenth and a half at the other end.

So sya you get a 2.2 60 foot and run a 12.6. Its very possible that you can end up in the 11's with a 1.8 60 foot.

[sm=burnout.gif]i absolutely agree that rubber is a major playa in solid times, but i haven't seen many if anyone lose that much time off their 1320 without suspension mods to go with the tires.
iver seen a vette with stock suspension and tires go from a 12.5 to an 11.8 just by dropping his 60 foot from 2.2 to 1.8 with drag radials.

hes a friend of mine.

I think you're smoking something. Keeping in mind I've done a 2V. He's got FULL exhaust, a chip, pulleys, throttle body and plenum. Trust me, he's at 300. The only reason he wouldn't show 300+ on a dyno is because of the gear. But he's there.

That is the most inncorect answer to a 99-04 GT question I have ever seen.

At the MOST 270-275 RWHP, and thats pushing it with a friendly dyno. I am making 280 RWHP with the below mods (minus the TKO and clutch/driveshaft). Hell, most of the full exaust/intake bolt cars I have seen only make somewhere around 260 or so RWHP.

It is competely impossible for a 2v GT to make 300 RWHP with no engine work, no cams, and no nitrous/boost. This has never been done before, and if you get a 300 RWHP dyno from a exaust/intake bolton GT you should get a better dyno shop. If it still nets 300 RWHP, call MM&FF for your car to be featured as the "factory freak of the century".
! You should be banned from the 2v performance section for sure!

i would hardly attack anyones knowlege, but i think one could get close to 300 with lts, mid, catback, intake,pl,tb,maf, tune, ignition, etc . maybe not at tree hundred, but high 280-290 assuming gearing doesnt actually yield a lower dyno #

as far as banning anyone from anywhere, why not leave that to us, another question though, do you do your work or are you a buy it and have it installed guy?

It is simply not possible to make anything much over 265-270 RWHP on a 2v 4.6 without engine work or boost/nitrous. This has been gone over time and time again, and the people that say they made much more than this always come back and say that another dyno showed them in the 250-265 range. I have never seen anyone claim 300 RWHP on a boltons on GT with a dyno to back it up. The highest number I have personally seen was like 275, and that was one of the people that got a new dyno and was back down to 260 range. Hell, I was expecting 300 RWHP with the cams, and when I told this to the guys at modular powerhouse (one of the nations premier 2v shops) he practically laughed himself silly.

Check out last months MM&FF, there is a 2v in there with cams and I think port work, and he is making somewhere around 300 to the wheels.

I have done all the work on the car except the cam install (didn't have the custom tools re: springs, or the time) and the TKO install (was more convient to get it done at the shop). And I already swapped out a T-45 for another t-45 +clutch etc myself before the second T-45 broke and I bought the TKO. And what difference would that make anyways? Its simple common knowledge.

I think you need your sarcasm meter adjusted (turned on?) about the banning issue.

If you really want to continue arguing a point that is already common knowledge, throw Code3GT a P.M. , and he can set you straight. If anyone on this site knows what power a 2v should make with what mods, it would be him.

2000GT4.6, I agree with you on the power. To get to the 300+ mark you need at least bolt ons and cams.

actually i talk to code and a number of others to boot, just as i have had two 4.6's a 4.9(current) and a true 5.0(current which is a pos 305 tpi) now i know this is hard to believe for ya, but i have a friend who has dynoed in the 280s w/o cams on a mustang dyno. i will get copies of his dyno sheets and post em when i get back in touch with him, boat captain

2000GT is right, a bolt on GT will get nowhere near 300.
