Ok my friend from school called me today, because it was a nice day here in West Lafayette. He wanted to go race, so did i but my car is at home in the garage till march. We plan to race this spring sometime. I was wondering how this will turn out? I know he has full length headers, with a muffler that dumps before the axle. He has some other small engine stuff done, he had an after market throttle body but it started sticking so he had to go back to stock. I think that i will get him because of the gears, i also plan on having BFG drag radials put on soon after i get the car back as the daily driver, so that should also help. I dont care if i win or lose, but i just wanted to find out my chances.

it should be close, drivers race, maybe give you the edge if you can launch well.

We would need to know what this "small engine stuff" is that he has done before making any kind of educated prediction.

not much just a filter or cai, what is the stock hp and tq of the lt1 cars

They have 275 hp at the flywheel. His mods give him maybe 20-30 rwhp. I think it will be close if he is on a drag radial like you, if not you will get him out of the hole and he won't be able to run you down.

He has the stock wheels and tires i will most likely have the drags at the time of the race.

Yea, with your gears id say you have the advantage. From a roll at say, 40mph, id say hed take you by a SLIGHT margin. in all honesty its a drivers race.
