Default Lowering

Ok so I will be lowering my 01 Gt soon and have a few questions.

Do I have to get caster/camber plates?
Is getting a bumpsteer kit necessary?
Do I need to get a new camber bolts?

I really plan on racing it any on an autoX track, it is my DD. I bought a set of springs that will drop it 2" total.

I'm on a somewhat limited budget on this stuff.

Aftermarket camber bolts are much weaker than the OEM ones and if you get CC plates, you don't need them anyway. Seems to me Ford makes a set, but are much stronger, due to a couple reasons. If you want to AX, you CERTAINLY want some CC plates anyway. They will give you much better adjustability of camber and the ability to add some caster, as well. Not such a fan of a 2" drop, on otherwise OEM suspension, but just one more reason to go CC plates.

You should get a bumpsteer kit, as I would expect a fair amount with such a drop. If you plan on AX'ing your car, you might consider a bit less drop. I think you will get some negative suspension geometry that may just overcome what benefits you feel a 2" drop will provide. If you already have the springs, you might consider a set of poly ISO's. This will make your drop a tiny bit less dramatic, yet add a smidge* better steering response.

None of those parts are "necessary" but cc-plates and a bumpsteer kit are certainly recommended. Especially with a big 2" drop!

But don't sell the golf clubs just yet. I can hook you up with a discount at UPR Products.

I've spent all my available funds on other mods

Thats why I was going to sell them, plus I haven't used them. I bought them new last year, but haven't played a round of golf since 2009.
