Default Sway Bar Recommendations

I just dropped my 09 GT with Steeda Boss springs and Koni STR.T shocks and struts. One install issue was getting the stock sway bar endlinks to tighten up.

I used an air impact wrench, one side tightened ok, the other did not. Drove it and had the infamous CLUNK! Had to buy one of those open ended ratchets and used a small socket on the end of the link stud. Personal opinion, OEM front sway bar endlinks suck..

Anyways, the point of this thread is to ask opinions on a sway bars (f/r) specific to my install since (unless I missed it) I have not seen any recommendations for pairing with the Steeda Boss springs. I figure I'd just upgrade and get some good endlinks in the process. Any other ideas are welcome.

The car corners pretty flat as it is, so I don't want to mess that up unless I can make it even better. In fact, it can go faster around corners than I am willing to let it go now!

Thanks

Sway bars are a tuning device and meant to address relativly mild understeer/oversteer conditions.... which of these does your car have?

hint: this is a semi-trick question

At this point I don't know if I have either case, I'm too chicken to push it so far. Stock I had understeer. Are you suggesting adjustable sway bars might be the best fit?

I'm bad a trick questions...

I just found this, maybe I'll just upgrade the end links. https://mustangforums.com/forum/s197...-endlinks.html

he he

I said trick question, as many don't know if they have either understeer or oversteer, but think sway bars will help with cornering. Not talking down to you or anything, just the common perception. IOW's, if you don't know, it is best not to replace them. If you have all your springs/dampers done and you are not driving hard enough to determine, that is just fine.... just enjoy the new ride and look

If you head out to some HPDE days, and I recommend EVERY driver on the road do so at least once, you will find out how she (and even MORE importantly.... YOU!) respond at the limits. At this point, just enjoy your new ride and pay attention to what Sam Strano says, in regards to the the end links. He knows his stuff and FAR better than I, but particularly on the S197 suspension.

Read this somewhere on the interwebs:

Understeer is when the front of the car hits the wall in a turn;
Oversteer is when the back of the car hits the wall in a turn;
Horsepower is how fast you are going when you hit the wall and
Torque is how far you are going to take the wall with you when you hit.

LOL! Awesome!

Thanks to both you guys - I'll ask Sam when I am ready.

In the mean time I will get those upgraded OEM sway bar end links for piece of mind.
