Bam!! Headgasket (most likely)
Looks like I am going to be changing the head gasket on my svo. Took a turn and got on it in second, started building boost and bam! Thought I may have snapped a follower but when I took off the cam cover they were all intact. Guess I am now officially a turbo ford owner now!

it's even harder with head studs since I actually have to lift it straight up 5 inches before I can take it completely off. I am leaving on the intake mani and taking off the exhaust mani when I do it. I will need to get another set of hands when I do it though.

Yeah thx, I have done the head swap before so i know what needs to be done, should be relatively easy as al the rusted/stuck bolts were removed last time and all of the ones on there now are new. Gonna do the valve seals at the same time since the head will be off the car.

Well upon a compression test I am completely stumped
the results were
#1 - 160
#2 - 170
#3 - 175
#4 - 165
So based on these numbers it isn't a head gasket and all followers are intact, any ideas out there in svo land?

Thats exactly what i figured it was. Didnt want to speak too soon. That happend to me a couple of days ago. The car wouldnt even keep idle. Sounds like a vac leak when it does idle.

Not a blown coupler, I have done enough work on these that that was on of the first things I checked. No vacuum or boost leaks. I am thinking thanks to another board that I may have busted the pin on the dizzy which made the gear move, that would cause a large backfire (bam noise) and cause it to not run well. Gonna pull the dizzy and see before I pull the head. Someone also suggested that I may have collapsed a hla so gonna check that as well
