Default 1984 SVO value

So I passed an 84 SVO and stopped to look at it. They want 2400, what's it worth? It's a 26 year old car, older than I am, with 84000 original miles, 5spd. Looks like it could use a little bit of restoring. My question is will these cars become collectors cars or just a fad car? I could buy this and hold on to it for quite some time but don't want to make a purchase if it's going to continue to decrease in value.

I don't think these were ever fad cars, hence why they ceased production after fewer than 10,000 were built.

If you are looking for an investment, an SVO probably isn't what you want to be buying. It seems the value of the cars has crept up over the past 5 years or so, but I doubt they will ever bring any serious money.

If the SVO specific pieces are all in good shape and the body isn't too terrible, you might be able to flip it for some small profit. $2400 for a sub 100,000 mile SVO doesn't sound too terrible.
