Default New '04 cobra owner, exhaust dilemma...

I just bought my '04 cobra and am having trouble deciding on a cat-back and mid-pipe combination. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated on what has a deep, mean tone. Thanks

Hello!

Post some pictures! Go to the 4.6 Discussion area. Lots of info about exhausts there.

My post should give you a better understanding!

yeah i have an 04 cobra and i went thru the same thing. I guess the ? is do you want really loud all the time even at idle or do you want it to be loud only when you punch on it?

I am working on my second 03 cobra and have been through a few exhaust systems. On my first one, I started off with Flowmasters (doesn't everyone) I changed dropped two cats off of the stock H-pipe and it got a little louder. I the changed the flowmasters to a 2.5 magnaflow exhaust, and it sounded very aggressive. Not extremely loud at idle, but really aggressive under WOT. On my present cobra, I just added a Borla Stinger with a stock H and it sounds awesome. Kinda mellow at low rpms and very mean at wide open throttle! I heard the Stingers on an off road pipe, and it was very, very loud and had a lot of resonance inside the car while driving.

LM2's are excellent. They are a little bit more deep than loud. But are AWESOME on WOT.

I went with the LM2 catback and SLP x-pipe. It's awesome, but thinking about taking the cats off.
