Default Help

I just got a 03 cobra a little more than a week ago and I have just noticed a shifting problem. It has a short throw shifter and for the past couple of days has trouble getting into gear. I have the clutch to the floor, but seems to be hesitant going into gear. I have more trouble getting into 1st, 2nd and 3rd, however 4th, 5th, and 6th seem to be better about getting into. Does anyone know what might be the cause of this. Thanks.

Take the shifter console out and see if you have the stop bolts on the shifter. In a cobra they say your not supposed to use them. Could be that. Worth a shot.

Well would that cause a problem all of the sudden. I asked a peformance shop near me and they said if it was the stop bolts I wouldnt even be able to get into gear. But im taking it up there thursday to let them drive it and see what they think the cause of the problem is.

Just back the stop bolts out and try driving it.

I don't understand what you mean by hesitant going into gear, I've never felt a manual car that was hesitant to go into gear.

Will it shift through the gears while it's turned off easy?
