99 Cobra smokes WS6 -TA
 

My little baby (99 Cobra) smoked a ws6 transam yesterday between New Orleans and Baton Rouge, La. Three times he tried me on the interstate, and all he could see was COBRA on my back bumper....This was such a rush..........I'm so proud of my Cobra, had to let you'll know.

Awesome! It must have been an automatic. If it was a 6-speed it would have been a better race, but you probably would have still won.

i know the feeling. i smoked a 600 or 750 c/ rocket [yellow no stickers on it? single pipe]on the interstate 2 times. from 70 to 140mph he was close on my ass but never passed me till i let off .he wanted to go again but after 2 times, whats the sence of it . modded 03 cobra's rock!

Did Pontiac offer an automatic on the T/A WS6? I thought they were all sticks, but I could be wrong.

Yep, my ex-wife had a 2000 ws6 with an automatic.

Those T/A WS6 are pretty darn fast. Nice kill. I raced an SS that had a cam, full exhaust, intake, tune, and D/R's and barely beat him from a 40 roll.

I want to begin by stating I do not hate Stangs..I love the lines and the style. Being to owner of a 2002 WS6 I wanted to give a few honest, no bull**** answers to a few questions I've seen floating around several Mustang forums....Whoever states WS6's run in the 12's bone stock is full of ****. Expect a mid to high 13 from a manual and I'll give a slightly lower 13 to an Auto. The auto actually has the edge in my opinion in the 1/8th and 1/4 'cuz the sticks spin like mad shifting on street tires...I have the 6 speed because from a roll you never want to get out of your powerband. Only mods I have are catbacks and a lid, and best I've ever mustered is a 8.45 in the 1/8th on streets at 87 mph. I tried a 03' SVT Cobra and got beat. I got the best at the start and pulled past, but heard the whine of the blower finding its powerband and he started pulling on me. By third gear pulled almost 3 cars on me. I never ever expected to beat him, but just wanted to see what a SVT really does. I cannot see a Stock WS6 taking a Newer Stock SVT Cobra... And yes the '03 Cobra is the S@@@@ ;) Call it a kill if ya want, but I never pass up a challange, never give anyone the ricerflyby. Just props...............

Nice kill. And Teo, thanks for the info, its nice to have someone who has firsthand exp with chevy's on the site. Youd be surprised to hear its kinda rare on this site...
