Lowering springs and pulleys

Lowering springs and pulleys
I have two questions. I have a 99 cobra and want to put lowering springs on. What is the best drop?
Also do racing pulleys kill on gas in an everyday driver? Thanks for the help.

RE: Lowering springs and pulleys
I like my Eibachs... I have both the sport line and the pro-kit (2" and 1.5" respective) and can't say anything negative about either of them except that the 2" drop means that you have to think about what you drive the car over... I have slammed my rear sway bar into several things and my exhaust has rubbed a few speed bumps... Whether you go with a 2" or 1.5" lowering spring, you will need to get new shocks/struts and a caster/camber plate in order to make the car handle properly... If you install under-drive pulleys, you will not notice much of a difference in your daily driving gas consumption. It should actually improve it as you are reducing your parasitic loss. I would consider not installing the under-drive pulley on the alternator, unless the brand you get claims a full charge at idle. I have had problems with those on two vehicles that I have owned and won't do it again... it is a real pain when you have to rev the car to keep things running when you are stuck in a traffic jam... also remember that if you are planning on installing a blower, you will need to reinstall your stock pulleys.
