What heads are on tthe 99/01 Cobras? I've got a 97, and I'm trying to figure out where the 15 extra ponies came from for the 99/01s. First thought was the heads, but I think heads would make more than 15hp. So anyway, what heads, and where does the power come from?
Didn't they also change the IRMC on the 96-98 by taking it off the 99-01.
they did away with the IMRC in 98 . so the 99 01 heads are totaly differnent head all together, so are the intakes, its impossible it swap over to newer head ,,well within ease anyhow.cause if you use the samr wiring harrness, the imrc computer is under the intake where the 99 dont have it at all. so if you leaft it unplugged you would sure to have an engine light on. the 96-98 heads had 16 ports total.the secondary ports would open like at 3500 rpms, below that the secondary flaps will stay closed giving it more tq.
Well then in that case, screw swapping heads. For what that would cost, I can get way more than 15 ponies. And wht the hell would ford go through all that work and design for a measly 15 hp? Maybe simpler and less likly to break without the differnet runners?
