hello, I just recently bought a 2001 mustang cobra and im not too sure on what kind of mid pipe i want to put on there. Im looking at the Mac Pro Chamber o/r and the Bassani o/r x pipe, which one is best????

On the power issue, some say the X pipe will make more power than an H or Prochamber. I say on a N/A motor, the gains will be minimal if they do make more power, so go with the sound you like. Check out www.mustangexhaust.com for sound clips of various midpipe/catback configurations. Typically, if you run resonators (SLP Loudmouth, Magnaflow Magnapacks, Borla Stingers), most choose an X pipe because it sounds better. H pipe/prochamber with resonators will give you a lot of popping. If you're looking for a more deep 60's muscle car sound, you're looking for a Flowmaster/Mac catback with an H or Prochamber. One piece of advice, spend the extra $ and get a stainless steel one instead of aluminum or the rust goblins will pay you a visit. Bassani is a great brand, as is Magnaflow.

ok thank you, will an after market mid pipe sound and perform bad with the stock cat back??

i just got a prochamber the bassani x-pipe is just to raspy sounding imo.
