Hey all, I got a 2001 Cobra, completely stock, I want to make my first upgrade now, going for the intake kit. I am looking for experienced intake users. Any suggestions? I know theres BBK, K&N and many others.

If you can let me know what you have and how it performs, what you paid, I would really appreciate it.

JLT is questionably the most popular. Both their RAI and CAI sets make very good power. In testing both systems netted peak gains of 10-15 RWHP with the RAI and 15-20 RWHP with the full CAI. http://jlttruecoldair.com/zencart/in...x&cPath=1_7_19

What about the stock tube on the 01 Cobra, would that work just as well as any other tube, if I replace just the filter with a K&N filter? I noticed that the stock tube is already pretty thick...

If you just replace the stock filter with a K&N filter you'll see an improvement, but not near as much as you'd get with a kit. Give Jay Tucker (JLT) a call @ 757-335-1940 and ask him direct. Nice guy. The JLT CAI (filter in the fenderwell area) will flow more air than the stock pipe. And I believe the RAI (filter in the engine bay) will flow more as well. But the CAI will flow cooler air, which accounts for slightly more power than their RAI.
