My friend at work just got a C6 vette, totally stock, manual. He wants to race and I was wondering how I would do if im putting down 460 hp to the wheels, and 480 tq to the wheels. He is totally stock. I figure I can beat him because I raced an 06 6.0L GTO a few weeks ago and put a couple cars on him, I didnt have the pulley, tensioner, or heat exchanger at the time.

Drivers race. Vette Z06 has 500 STOCK the base vette has 400 stock but either way they are weight reduced down to almost nothing. If hes a small guy and can drive a stick I would def. say the vette but if your a better driver its u then. Also just depends on the car running good and the conditons. I vote vette all the way though. Good luck.

Yea it would be close. you would have him off the start but on the upper end the vette is more aerodynamic and lighter, so he would probably be faster the longer the race. Im curious about the results please post when you race.

btw i raced a vette a few weeks ago, im not sure what year it was but newer body style though. i was behind him when we started and i was right on his a$$ and had to let up so i didnt run him over. we got up around 150.

The vette definately has the weight advantage. Thats a race I would love to watch. Goodluck.

Ya, the weight is the only thing Im worried about. I mean I have him by 100 hp and atleast 100 tq, I think I can take him though. I will post results when I get the chance to race him. Thanks for the help.
