camaro guy with a few ?'s
Well as you can tell by my signature I am in the process of a major build for my turbo v6 camaro. Well the other day my gf brings home a new car and it gets me thinking......I have always wanted an 03+ SVT cobra, however, affording one is a different story. So here is my question, I know my way around motors very well but could someone sum up ROUGHLY the cost of a kenne bell or wipple swap onto a GT, and is there any year GT that would make it easier? and also any parts needed to complete the swap. I am sure this question is asked....1,000,000 times, but bear with me, hell i am a camaro guy after all. THANK YOU!

You can go to Kenne Bells website to get an exact price for the s/c. I priced one for my fox and it was about 3000.00. Comes with everything you need to do the install. I am not very familiar with the SN-95s, but I think they dont like mods too well, unless you can program the ECU for them. Good luck and welcome to the board. There are a great number of folks on here that can give you more information.

Welcome to the forums. On topic of your question, i would strongly suggest not going down that path, because ive experienced how unreliable the 2v GTs are. I would buy a GT with a blown motor, rip it out, and buy yourself a 4v with an SC. Its going to be more expensive and time consuming, but its going to last you a lot longer than a 2v will with a kenne bell. Hope that helps man, good luck.

There are better routes than 4.6. Lets say the 302, or 351W. But if you must have 4.6 that makes 500+ rwhp, then cobra motor will get you there safely. Though it is expensive. Think car, plus 8 grand or so for the cobra motor, it already has OEM blower.
As far as blowing 2v, it been done, and it lasts longer than bolt ons, the secret for longivity are pistons. Stock 2v motor has cast pistons, and they tend to crack under increased cc pressure. You are looking at 400+ reliable horses with blown 2v. Price for vortech, last time I looked at it, was around 4,500. To really support blower though, you need heads, intake, pistons, crank, that way you can make close to 480 rwhp.
Id go with centerfugical blower, because these are high reving motors.

Isn't that a really crappy time for a 550 hp camaro? I would assume a much lower time with that kind of power level. You sure your not building up a Supra?
